Grondvryhoogte is die afstand vanaf die laagste punt in die middel van die motorbak tot op die grond. Die vervaardiger Isuzu Fargo meet egter die grondvryhoogte soos dit dit pas. Dit beteken dat die afstand vanaf die skokbrekers, enjinoliepan of knaldemper na die asfalt minder as die genoemde grondvryhoogte kan wees.
'n Interessante punt: motorkopers gee veral aandag aan grondvryhoogte, want in ons land is goeie grondvryhoogte 'n noodsaaklikheid, dit sal jou van hoofpyne red wanneer jy tot by randstene parkeer.
Die ryhoogte van die Isuzu Fargo wissel van 155 tot 200 mm. Maar wees versigtig wanneer jy op vakansie gaan of teruggaan met inkopies: 'n gelaaide motor sal maklik 2-3 sentimeter grondvryhoogte verloor.
As jy wil, kan die grondvryhoogte van enige motor verhoog word deur spasieerders vir skokbrekers te gebruik. Die motor sal langer word. Dit sal egter sy vorige stabiliteit teen hoë snelhede verloor en sal baie in beweegbaarheid verloor. Die grondvryhoogte kan ook verminder word; hiervoor is dit as 'n reël genoeg om die standaard skokbrekers met tuning te vervang: die hantering en stabiliteit sal jou dadelik behaag.
